The Biomass Facilities Reporting System is a database of California's biomass facilities, and includes environmental and performance data and GIS mapping. Additionally, the Reporting System contains an assessment of total biomass resources and total biomass power generation for California for 2005, with projections for 2010, 2017, and 2020 that can be viewed online or downloaded as Excel spreadsheets. Photographs of select biomass facilities and a review of biomass harvesting technologies may also be found here.
Under Construction
Under contract with the CDFFP, information on biomass harvesting equipment in commerical use and under development was collected in order to catalogue the various technologies available for harvesting biomass in site and stand conditions common to the Central Sierra Nevada, California to mitigate wildland fire hazards and potential watershed damage.
If you would like photographs of your facility displayed on the Collaborative website, please send copies along with written authorization for use to biomass@ucdavis.edu.
Use this web-based calculator to determine energy costs based on your technical, financial, and economic assumptions. It includes a background review of methodology used and provides several examples downloadable as Excel spreadsheets.
The following cost calculators compute the level annual cost of energy in both current and constant dollars for different energy facilities using a revenue requirements methodology. Below are several examples downloadable as Excel spreadsheets. To use the calculators, replace the default input values with your own values. Please note these calculators are intended to be simple and easy to use; there are many more complex models that should be used for more in depth analyses.
